Robert Marchand, a 105 year old man from France, has shown the world that you can break records at any age!  Marchand has set a new one hour cycling record for his age by pedaling 22.547 km in the national velodrome situated in the west of Paris. By comparison, the one-hour world record is 54.526 km, set by British Tour de France winner and multiple Olympic gold medalist Bradley Wiggins.

Boy! What a fete!

Robert Marchand is really inspirational to all and the same time puts most of us to shame. He has shown that you can achieve anything, in any age, as long as you work at it consistently.

What is elderly abuse?

Abuse…, What’s the first thing that comes in your mind when you hear the word? An image of a kid being sexually abused or physically tortured? A husband hitting his wife violently which leaves her with some broken ribs and bruises everywhere? Yes, those are abuses and a crime against humanity, in my personal opinion.  What I would like to highlight, to you, is about a common abuse that may not have crossed your mind…the abuse on the elderly.

What is Mesothelioma ?

“Meso… what now?” That’s the first thing that came into my head when I heard about mesothelioma. I have never heard about this form of cancer until I read an email from an organization that wanted to know if I could assist in bringing awareness about this disease. The more research that I did on this subject, the more I realized what a devastating disease this is, especially in the elderly.

The past week was hell. My dad misplaced his glasses and what a grumpy man he became. He couldn’t read his papers and had double vision. Okay, seeing a double vision of me, probably increased his grumpiness even more. Eventually, I found his prescription glasses in his room, hiding inside his closet. Dad was so happy that I could literally see a twinkle in his eye.
